INTIINTI was borned as a challenge when we created Sol'Ex. The goal of the Sol'Ex project is to make spectroheliographic images accessible to as many people as possible. While the Sol'Ex instrument is simple and effective, it was necessary to be able to view the final images in the same spirit: simple and effective. INTI is the application to process spectroheliographic scans of the sun which automatically produces the reconstructed monochromatic images with only one click... It is an original work designed for Sol'Ex spectrograph to process video ser files on 16 bits or 8 bits but it can apply to other SHGs with similar geometry. INTI software has been written in Python and is open source. The interface is streamlined to help you do the processing tasks with minimal number of clicks, and direct access to the essentials functions.
If you have an Internet connection, the application will check for the latest version when it launches. If it differs from your current version, the version number in the interface will be displayed in red. Installation1. Download the zip file
2. Extract the inti directory on your disk or on usb keyOnce unzipped you'll have a directory with the exe file inti.exe, a directory _internals with all the files for the python execution, and the manuals in french and english as pdf. 3. Click on INTI.exe to launch the applicationIt may take a dozen af seconds before the user interface appears. Maybe less at second launch For english language, first launch INTI, it will be in french by default. Locate the bottom button marked FR, click on it, it will turn to EN. Exit INTI. Relaunch INTI, it will now turned into english. INTI use the OS system to store application settings, and a text file "inti.yaml" - Make sure the directory has write acess mode enabled. Process your first scan..1. Open your first ser file2. Click on Go !See the processing logs in the console as the software is running
And enjoy the images

Known limitationsINTI automatisation relies on assumption on the acquired scan. Its novelty algorithms is based on the average of the frames to initiate all the automatic processings. Video images are expected to be 8 or 16 bits, SER format. If the scan does not start and end outside of the sun then the tilt and the scaling correction based on limbs detection will fail and a defaut scaling will be applied and recorded in the logs. INTI is not compatible with Windows 7 anymore due to python 3.9 and above beeing not supported by W7. INTI has been tested by Christian Buil and myself on a lot of different configurations. We are confident it provides reliable results in most of the case. If you find issues or want to suggest improvements, we encourage you to contact us.
